On a mountain crest i stood
and by the sword i wore
from now on and for good
to a holy quest i swore
A target set so high
A kingdom in the sky
A light beyond the night
Afar a cross was burning.
a lucent blaze divine
The path ahead was turning,
lit by the magic shine.
First crossroads indecision
My will in split division
Which road i had to take
A voice within was calling.
“Only one way for you.
No choosing and no stalling,
see where the cross is true.
And hold fast to a knowing
that has the true way glowing:
Keep eyes upon the cross!”
A crossroads is a sign.
Many roads, many a destination
But since the cross is mine.
There is no hesitation.
Not many roads but one
One fight that must be won.
"This fight that burns your heart!”
Hence i fear no decision
And doubt is not a threat
When the cross is in my vision
Then i go straight ahead
As centered as my cross
The target’s holy gloss
I dream within my day
Led to a land called Colchis.
The golden fleece I found.
It opened into gnosis.
Not bounty, but unbound.
“Walk back with chosen seven!
Leave all the rest to heaven.
Go home the humble way”
Now to the cross i pleaded
It twinkled and then shone
Returned, but not defeated
the cross kept leading on
I turned to what I’ve learned.
The bridges had been burned.
I rose, myself renewed.
Believe is not cease walking
to take the test of time
a faithful way of talking
and sticking to a rhyme
The cross is my believing
A higher word receiving
A silent kind of strive
